Terms of Service
These terms apply when you request locksmith work from KeyForge Locksmith by phone, by email, or through the form on this website.

Quotes and pricing
We give a price on the phone before anyone drives out to you. That price is based on what you describe. If the job on arrival is materially different — a different lock, a different key system, damage we were not told about — we tell you the new price and wait for your agreement before starting. We do not start work and present a higher figure afterwards.
Proof of ownership
Before we open a vehicle or property, or cut a key for it, you must show that it is yours or that you are authorised to have access. Registration, title, a lease, or photo ID matching the address will normally do. If you cannot show it, we will not do the work, and no call-out charge applies in that case. This is not negotiable and it is the reason your own locks are worth having.
Arrival times
Our base is in Petaluma. Any time we quote is an honest estimate for your address, not a guarantee: traffic, weather and the job in front of yours all move it. If we are going to be late, we call you. Arrival times to the further parts of Sonoma and Marin counties are longer than to Petaluma, and we say so when you call.
Damage
Some locks and some situations cannot be resolved without damage — a seized cylinder, a broken key welded in place, a security device designed to destroy itself. Where that is the case we tell you before we begin, and you decide. Damage we cause outside of what was agreed is ours to put right.
Payment
Payment is due on completion unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We do not take payment through this website.
Warranty on our work
Our labour is warranted against defects in workmanship. Parts carry whatever warranty their manufacturer gives, and we pass that on. The warranty does not cover later damage, misuse, or work done to our installation by somebody else. Vehicle manufacturer warranty and recall work is outside what we can do at all — for that you need the dealership, and we will tell you so rather than take the job.
Cancellation
Cancel before the technician sets off and there is no charge. If we have already travelled to you, a call-out charge may apply; we will have told you the amount when you booked.
Offers
Discounts advertised on this site apply to labour only, one per job, and are not combined with each other unless we say so. Parts and hardware are excluded. Mention the offer when you call — we take it off the quote before the work starts, not after.
Liability
We carry insurance for the work we do. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. We are not liable for losses that were not a foreseeable result of our work.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of California.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. The terms that apply to your job are the ones in force when you booked it.
