What we collect
- What you type into the request form: your name, phone number, the service you need, your location or city, and the description of your issue.
- What you tell us on the phone or by email: the same kind of details, plus whatever is needed to do the job — vehicle make and model, address, type of lock.
We do not ask for payment card details through this website. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on it.
Why we collect it
To answer your request, quote the work, dispatch a technician to the right address, and keep a record of the job. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not send marketing messages to people who only asked for a quote.
Who else sees it
- Our technicians, so they know where to go and what to bring.
- Our email and phone providers, because your message physically travels through them.
- Law enforcement, if we are legally required to hand something over.
The service-area map on our homepage is embedded from Google Maps. When it loads, Google may receive your IP address and set its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy. We do not control that and receive nothing from it.
How long we keep it
Job records are kept for as long as we may need them for warranty, invoicing and tax purposes. Enquiries that never became a job are deleted once they are clearly stale.
Locksmith work and proof of ownership
For lockouts and key replacement we ask for proof that the vehicle or property is yours — typically registration, title or a photo ID matching the address. We check it, note that it was checked, and do not keep copies beyond what the job record requires. This is a security practice, not a formality: it is what stops us from opening your car for somebody else.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by calling (707) 615-1284 or writing to keyforgelock@gmail.com. If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you those rights explicitly; we apply them to everybody. We will not treat you differently for exercising them.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
